Electronic Structure and Reactivity of Metal Carbenes
Metal carbenes have for a long time been classified as Fischer or Schrock carbenes depending on the oxidation state of the metal. Since the introduction of N-heterocyclic carbene complexes this classification needs to be extended because of the very different electronic character of these ligands. The electronic structure of these different kinds of carbene complexes is analysed and compared to...
متن کاملMultiplicity in Supersymmetric Spin Chains
We discuss a simple procedure for obtaining new integrable spin chains from old by replacing each single state of the original model by some collection of states. This works whenever the Lax matrix of the chain has a certain form. The simplest example is the su(n) XX model. We apply the techniques of the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz to solve such systems, in the bosonic and supersymmetric cases.
متن کاملGeometry of Geometrically Finite One-Dimensional Maps
We study the geometry of certain one-dimensional maps as dynamical systems. We prove the property of bounded and bounded nearby geometry of certain C one-dimensional maps with finitely many critical points. This property enables us to give the quasίsymmetric classification of geometrically finite one-dimensional maps.
متن کاملDual reactivity of N-heterocyclic carbenes towards copper(II) salts.
Complexes of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) with copper(II) halogenides are unstable. Upon formation, these complexes decompose to give haloamidinium salts. Contrastingly, O-substituted copper(II) NHC complexes are fairly stable. A series of new five-, six- and seven-membered ring NHC complexes of Cu(OAc)(2) have been synthesised and characterised in the solid state.
متن کاملCurrent-induced spin polarization in strained semiconductors.
The polarization of conduction electron spins due to an electrical current is observed in strained nonmagnetic semiconductors using static and time-resolved Faraday rotation. The density, lifetime, and orientation rate of the electrically polarized spins are characterized by a combination of optical and electrical methods. In addition, the dynamics of the current-induced spins are investigated ...
